Palau des arts , Valencia

today we went on a tour of the Palau des Arts (opera house). I think its even more beautifully designed on the inside with lots of curves as seen in this spiral staircase.  We went into three of the four auditoriums where a lot of care has been taken to ensure the best acoustics with slatted beech wood on the walls and leather seats with tiny holes to ensure great sound even when its half empty. In the largest one however the designer insisted on ceramic tiled walls which isnt ideal. We also heard that the 'royal box' seats where the royal family or dignitairies would be seated when not in use are some of the cheapest seats!
