Dripping

Up early to finish packing, make beds up and clean the flat for the homeswap guests. They’d said they'd be arriving at 12 and I wasn’t sure if that meant at the airport or the flat so wanted to get it all done before then and managed to do it. The plan had been to go to visit Tweedy after I’d finished but, despite a bright start, the forecast had said it would deteriorate and sure enough it was horrible by then.
I decided to go for a little browse of the shops as its ages since I’ve been down to town and at least that kept me out of the rain. I wasn’t very inspired by anything though, and made the mistake of having a Cornish pasty for lunch which left me feeling too full and uncomfortable (definitely need to cut back a bit generally - I’m putting on weight that I don’t need or want!)
I went up to the John Lewis cafe and had a pot of tea and read a bit of a book from one of their shelves but the bench seats weren’t comfy enough to linger too long. I grabbed a quick photo of the view down to the misty Leith and water beyond….such a dreich day and it’s July!
Drove to A&N’s and chatted a bit to N but then had to just go to bed as I felt zonked. I ended up sleeping for an hour and woke just before A got home. N had made a yummy aubergine parmigiana and as we ate A told us about her day full of management discussions…she’s really feeling the difference from her promotion!
We had some tea and chatted some more but ended up in bed by 10! I definitely need to get a wiggle on with stuff tomorrow….I feel so behind with admin/executor stuff at the moment as I hardly seem to have been at home doing ‘normal’ stuff for so long!
