First bloom

This is our first sweet pea, emerging delicately rain-dripped. I love its narrow purple edging with the hints of purple veining - though I can’t remember the variety we planted. 

There’s an afternoon tea to enjoy today - a birthday voucher from Rob and Terry who join us at a Llandudno hotel. I’ve asked for a gluten free version as I’m trying to remove gluten from my diet to see whether it reduces abdominal pain - and it does seem to be working. Anyway, the tea is lovely - though I’m disappointed that I miss out on the scones as they clearly don’t have any that are gluten free. I rather like this business of celebrating my birthday once again three months after the event! Unfortunately, I forget to take any photos!
