Gimme shelter

Tri-Met bus shelter on NW 23rd near the library.

After taking dozens of fun shots of two huge cranes working in unison, I got caught up in the signs appearing in response to today's challenge and was hooked.

This sign is funny peculiar.

I've had my eye on it for months. It's supposed to warn people not to cross the street against the light, but it's not near the corner where the light is. That makes it seem related to the bus shelter, where its meaning is transformed to "Don't lose your temper, just wait for the next bus."

Notice that the man appears to have a target on his head, that he seems about to swallow his cell phone, and that the bus can be seen just pulling out. The plaintive footnote "lost his hat" near the man's feet just adds to the confusion.

Maybe this is funny haha after all.
