Great Black Backed Gull

The largest Gull in the world.

But the real excitement of the day was that bird song/call number 74 was an Osprey!
My extra shows it just for identification purposes. The telephoto on my modest bridge camera  is not up to such distances. Unlike the birder sitting next to us whose len  was the size of a Trombone.

But it was good to see one as their return to north west England has been a success story in the past twenty years.
