Grumpy Old Man

To the dump, to the dump, to the dump dump dump!

Remember that music? The William Tell Overture.

I’d been trying to decide what to do with the piles of prunings which have been accumulating since I began to remove the unwanted shrubs and tree seedlings from my garden bank. I don’t like having great heaps of vegetation down by the roadside! Today I tried sitting a bulk bag in the car boot and chopping up the prunings to fit in it. It worked well enough and I set off to the dump - sorry, Moleigh Recycling Centre - some three miles up the road.

Unfortunately when I got there a sign said that a skip was being replaced, so a queue of us had to wait for a while until they got it sorted. Then I found that the garden waste skip had been taken away to be emptied somewhere, so I had to leave the bag on the ground.

After lunch I filled another bag and got rid of that too - my Blip today - so the place is a little tidier. Lots more to come, but that will have to wait for a while as I’m off to visit my sister in London on Friday.  After all that, the cloudy sky cleared and we sat out on the deck for a while in the sunshine.  It didn’t last long, but it was good while it lasted!
