GATESHEAD
Another medical appointment today. This one was at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a scan. I was due there at 8.30am. The timing of the once an hour bus from the village didn't fit with the appointment. time so I had booked a taxi.
I wasn't allowed to eat anything before the appointment and I had to drink 3 glasses of water at 7am so I would have a full bladder. Im not that keen on plain water so I had to force it down.
Taxi arrived on time. However the driver started off going the wrong way. (He said he had only been a taxi driver for a fortnight ). Once he got his bearings he did well to avoid the rush hour traffic by going via country roads. We got to the hospital in good time. The unit I wanted is nowhere near the main buildings and you need to use a separate entrance and car park. However Mr Taxi Driver thought he knew best and he went in the main entrance. He got caught up in the one way system and kept hitting dead ends --- so I decided to pay up, get out and walk. Even then it wasn't easy to find the unit as the place is so confusing. Got there only a few mins late.
The scan didn't take long and then I was on my way again ( after using the toilet facilities - I was bursting )
Got a bus to Gateshead and then another bus home. 4 buses yesterday and 3 today - I'm glad I won't be needing to go anywhere by bus tomorrow.
Took my blip shot in Gateshead. Its a view of Trinity Square with The Halo in the centre. The Halo has been in place since 2014 and is a 27 foot sculpture made from inflated stainless steel. It tilts at an angle of 66 degrees. The sculpture is a modern nod to the town’s steel industry traditions - the ring is a symbol of the area’s regeneration. The Wide Wednesday theme is " In Camera Movement." Thanks to ApolloFly for hosting. Ive added an extra of a non - blurry shot of The Halo.
Its been another rainy day. Enough said.
Just finished watching the footie. England V The Netherlands. England won 2 - 1 to go through to the final of Euro 2024 where they will play Spain. Well done England.
