Lonely Stone

The memorial of the 43rd Wessex Division, sited in a position that overlooks the counties from which its complement was drawn – in World War II.  War is a dreadful waste of life but it's a poignant reminder of those who volunteered to fight for freedom.

Let's hope that we can continue to learn from the lessons of that era.
