Hyper

We visited Tampere Art Museum's exhibition HYPER, which presents hyper-realistic sculptures from 27 different artists Hyperrealism emerged in the 1960s and 1970s in the United States and Europe as a reaction to abstract expressionism.

In the picture is Carole Feuerman's sculpture from her Catalina swimmer series (1981).

Catalina of 1981 is from Feuerman’s signature series of female swimmers. Feuerman has said that when swimmers submerge into the water they escape the stresses of the outside world, and they emerge cleansed and invigorated. The water beads up on the swimmer’s glowing arms and shoulders, and Catalina is about how good she feels.
