A grand day ...
We headed over to Perth this morning, T to run various errand and me to attend my Grandmentor Training, my next step in (hopefully) becoming a mentor to a young person in Perthshire.
The training was really good and touched upon some things I was familar with from my working days as well as introducing me to other things to consider.
Back home I then continued with my exploration of my Irish ancestors. I have decided to document their roots in Ireland from when they arrived in Dundee which meant starting with a 3rd Great Grandmother, Catherine Allan, who came over between 1829 and 1831. Looking afresh at my records, Old Howff Burial records and Scotland's people meant I was able to identify when her parents died which felt like a step forward and also gave me her grandparents name. However searching Irish record is much harder and so I may not discover exactly where she came from in Armagh.
Neither of these activities yielded photographs and so instead I present my first nasturtium.
