Saughton rose garden

Swim first at the Leith Victoria pool; it was very busy, and hadn't identified that half of its space was not available except for lessons. Much more crowded changing spaces than Glenogle. Back on a no 36 bus.

Out again by tram in the afternoon to Saughton; it's the height of rose season and the garden was looking splendid, although the delphiniums were rather bowed over by wet and wind. (extra). Met I and K who were also enjoying wandering the gardens. Had tea and a scone. Overcast, occasional drips, 16C.

Back by the Water of Leith to the Murrayfield tram stop. Saw a burnet moth, a gatekeeper butterfly, and swallows and swifts by the river. No ducks at all.
