One hundred million years ago you would have been in lots of trouble if you came across one of these.
This is a Kronosaurus and he was the largest marine reptile that lived in the Cretaceous Inland Sea that covered a large section of Queensland 120 million years ago.
Kronosaurus Kornor is the home of a marine fossil museum that is Richmond's main tourist attraction. The museum houses fossils that have been found in our local shire, some of them are the best preserved fossils in Australia.
I was on the committee that started the museum back in 1995 and spent most of my weekends working at the museum and giving tours to help keep it open.
