Shade seeker

I decided to get rid of the tomato plants today. I have another batch of about 30 little tomatoes that I will use to make sauce.

Anyway, after I got the plants out of the growing bags I decided to clean up the remaining soil of roots and dump it on the smaller flower bed which is mostly irises. As I was spreading it I noticed this turtle under the forsythia at the back of the bed. He was definitely keeping out of the sun. I threw some salad mix out so he won’t have to go far to find some food.

Also, there were three big toads in the growing bag dirt. Good thing I saw them before I put my hands in. There might have been a little squeal when they scared me.
