Minibeast

Today is the first day of the Big Butterfly Count, so I dug out my macro lens and went  out into the garden - more in hope than expectation. I didn’t see a single butterfly. I did, however, spot quite a lot of these Semaphore Flies. It’s easy to see where they got their name as they signal with their wings as part of their courtship ritual.
