Working in the hay back blip
The road trip to the farm was pretty good today. When we got to the bridge there was very little water in the crick. The state road has started working on our road slips! When we got to the run it was bone dry, only the few deeper holes had some standing water. No moving water is not good as that is when the midges infect the deer by biting them. I've heard they swarm around the standing water. Insects carry the virus that causes the bluetongue disease. I have only seen one whitetail deer with the disease and hope I never see another.
My plants are parched along with everything else. The tomatoes with the drippers still look great though. I watered everything with the rain barrels and hope they will perk up.
Henry is getting in the hay. Dry weather is at least good for that part of farming. This is only a few of the many farm tractors and implements he uses.
We took Sugar for a ride to check out the happenings around the hill.
