Lady Emma Hamilton

We had planned a quiet day and I pottered in the kitchen in the morning and made leek and potato soup for lunch. I use sage and chives from the herb border for extra flavour and it all turned out well and was much appreciated. Lots of weeding in the afternoon and some plant manoeuvring which was long overdue but very necessary. I hadn’t decided on a blip but after 7 pm, whilst enjoying a glass of wine on the terrace, we were enchanted by the light of the glorious sunset. It’s wonderful where it ‘hits’ certain spots in the garden such as Lady Emma Hamilton - an English rose which I understand is no longer available from David Austin. I don’t know why but I love it and have always found it really prolific, very fragrant and trouble free.
