Tea and Cakes
SATURDAY
Wendy and Martin were hosting coffee and cakes this afternoon in their home and garden at Pen Y Graig Bach, Tremeirchion in aid of the Old School Repair Fund. The garden has spectacular views across the Vale of Clwyd with the Great Orme and the mountains of Eryri in the far distance.
We decided to walk there from home. It's about 2.5 km but the last kilometre involved a steep climb of 90 metres. I walked back via Y Graig nature reserve and was pleased to see a few speckled wood butterflies. I took the photo in the extra from Y Graig.
Earlier in the day, I drove over to Ruthin for the Parkrun. I came in 40th place with a time of 00:27:03.
On another note, it is pleasing to see bees on the lavender in the garden and a handful of butterflies on my walks today. Up to this week the butterflies and bees have been notable by their absence.
