1990: Ghost opens in theatres
Quote Of The Day
"I don't wanna go to Heaven. I wanna go to the bank and cash this STUPID CHEQUE!"
(Oda Mae Brown, Ghost )
Another busy but enjoyable day. We had a bit of hassle in the morning; the first bus we took on our way to Hollywood had to take a detour. After getting off the Metro train in Hollywood, the first bus to the Griffith Observatory had broken down and the replacement bus needed to be refueled, which meant a ten minute delay. We finally arrived at the Griffith Observatory thirty minutes behind schedule.
We were able to make some time back by leaving the Griffith Observatory a bit earlier than planned, but we saw both of the shows that we wanted to see and enjoyed some lovely views. We then took the bus and train to Hollywood for lunch.
The Hollywood Museum was a bit of let down because the 1966 Batmobile is no longer on display there, but there were a few other interesting things, especially the Catwoman display and the Elvira, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Hanibal Lecter waxworks.
We then went to the Chinese Theatre and took lots of photographs of hand and footprints. I've included me with Arnie's impressions because Arnie is awesome. (Arnie also appeared in a movie shot briefly at the Griffith Observatory and I stood in his footsteps there too. Do you know which film that was?)
By the way, the answers to yesterday's poser about star cars was the Batcycle, the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo, the DeLorean time machine from Back To The Future, the Plymouth Fury from Christine, Starsky and Hutch's Ford Gran Torino and K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider.
Hooray For Hollywood!
