Sunny skies
After a layin we left our hotel and headed for the tram which was just a stones throw away.
We wanted to go all the way to the end of the tram line which I thought was Leigh but it actually goes as far as Newhaven. Interesting going past areas I had not been before. We got to Ocean Terminal and we’re told the tram would have to stop there and go back as the one in front had a problem. So off we got and walked the rest of the way. Saw the Royal Britannia from a distance and a cruise ship in port.
Found a lovely little cafe called The Haven. Very cosy with old fashioned plates and cups etc. It was busy but we managed to get a table near the window. I enjoyed fried eggs and avocado on sourdough toast.
We walked down to the harbour and sat in the sunshine watching the tide come in. The lighthouse seems to have been painted with pink at the bottom.Had a look at the Fish market and beach ( no sand as the tide was right in ) and then made our way back to the tram.
There was an orienteering competition on and we watched lots of runners going by some getting on to the tram once they had finished. Got off at St Andrews Square and sat in the park drinking iced coffee until it was time to catch the bus home.
Rainy some of the way. Had the same bus and driver as yesterday.
Home at about 8 picking up a Chinese take away from Avoch
