Wimbledon Colours
Kelling Heath was displaying lovely Wimbledon colours when I walked around it with my friend H this morning. A challenging walk in places given the amount of standing water and squelchy ground with a very high water table at the moment (see Extra). We also had to do a few short diversions as some bits were impassable given the huge growth in the gorse. Our boots and the bottom of our trouser legs were completely wet through in the first five minutes. It’s July!!! Very nice to have a catch up and drink at the Holiday Village though.
An amazing performance by Carlos Alcaraz in the final this afternoon, for two sets he annihilated Djokovic’s game. A complete masterclass. And congratulations to Alfie Hewett for winning the Wheelchair singles and the doubles with Gordon Reid - brilliant. Great to see the Princess of Wales back at Wimbledon in an appropriate purple dress presenting the trophy for the Gentleman’s Singles (although I do wish she’d wear white trainers on Centre Court not heels).
Fingers crossed that England’s quite extraordinary luck holds for the final this evening.
