Purple Toadflax ( Linaria purpurea )

Another wet day.  The weather wasn't conducive to going out looking for blips.  So between showers I nipped into the garden and more or less took photos of the first thing I saw.

It has seeded freely round the garden, I honestly can't remember if we bought it or it "came under its own steam".  Native to Italy it seems to cope well with our Lakeland weather.  It is another of the plants that are good for pollinators.  It is also a plant used by some butterflies as a food plant for caterpillars.  Recent research in Italy suggests it may have antifungal properties.
