Perfect
Describing both the monarch butterfly and the weekend with good friends. We started the day with a delicious French toast breakfast casserole that I made using apple cinnamon bread and praline pecans along with fresh watermelon, peaches and blueberries. We then enjoyed some lively dominoes (Mexican Train) until it was time for Paul to start heading back to Dunkirk, NY (6.5 hour drive!). A little more time with the girls and then they, too, had to start heading home (Corning, NYC, Princeton). It was such a good weekend.
Yesterday while we were getting ready to eat we heard the news about the former president getting shot in the ear. Reports today suggest that the shooter was a registered Republican so I'm not sure what the motive was, nor am I sure we will ever be told. It is a sad state of affairs, however, when any political candidate (whether I like him/her or not) is the victim of what was clearly an assassination attempt. I wonder what our country is coming to?
Definitely needed some time in the garden this afternoon. The natural world is so much simpler than the human one.
