Drawing for the cause
Caroline is a charity fundraiser for a homelessness charity and she set everyone who could draw the task of doing a little drawing of a plant to go on post cards that had bank details on the back to be handed out at a fundraiser. I was hopeless in that arena but it reminded me that V gave me a flower press and I asked if I could send something over for next month. ‘It’s for Tuesday’ she said.
I did however make a sensational apricot tart from DH and we all cooked together and made crab mayonnaise on toast, and Jamie, CQ and I made a production line to make salmon fennel papillotes which was very simple but confusing to work out in terms of geometry. In the end it was a delicious lunch and two mutual friends, the painter Tony Beever and his wife came and joined us. He couldn’t be persuaded to draw either as he said it would take him three months to come up with a concept.
The weather was lovely and although we didn’t have lunch out we managed drinks and crab outside and teas and coffees after.
They all left around 5pm and we tidied up and flopped in front of telly.
I did also water the pots, the garden certainly doesn’t need it, which means the buddleia in the picture got watered and doesn’t any longer look quite so droopy.
