Loch Lomond
What a morning. The river was like glass with a few wisps of mist when I passed; the tide was well out and the lines of marker buoys leading into the mist was amazing. But no time for photos, I had to be at Balloch at 6am to meet Heather and the rest of the crew. We had a cunning plan. Duck Bay and back; a 3.5km swim. First time for Heather, and first time without the wetsuit for me.
There was quite a crowd there today, must be the good weather and calm conditions. Anyway; we stopped briefly at Cameron House with 6 of the others before heading on past the headland. It was great! Three decent swims without wetsuit in 3 days, so I was feeling it by the time we got back.
Just enough time for a quick coffee before heading to work. Scratching all the way! The midges had been out in force and we were all suffering. I had to resort to antihistamines, but things didn't calm down until almost lunchtime. AAAAAAARGH! Still worth it though. So bug spray to be added to my swim bag.
The rest of the day was marvellous; a wee sneaky half day at the last minute, some gardening, built up the new BBQ and JT came home to cook up a feast. It doesn't get any better than that.
