Adam Smith, the Newly Weds and a Seagull

Walking  anywhere in Edinburgh at the moment you can expect to see the strangest sights and so it was this morning as I walked down the High Street at 6:45am to catch the Porty bus . There, in close proximity to Adam Smith and his attendant seagull  stood a couple, newly weds by the look of them, re-enacting their wedding photo.  They had the street more or less to themselves and could take time adjusting the bride’s headdress while I the only passerby recorded the scene from a distance, trying not to look too obvious.

With daughter #1 safely returned from Moray, I met her at the beach where the pollution warning had been lifted. We did notice several dead jelly fish on the sand at high tide level which tends to freak her out, but we didn’t encounter any in the water.
The sun shone for us and there was no wind to hamper getting dressed post dip.
Later we repaired to Söderberg for coffee and scones and a chat about her week away.

It was Spain’s day yesterday and deservedly so. Alcaraz is an amazing tennis player and won the Wimbledon Men’s Singles final so convincingly against Djokovic.
As for the football, I blame the English media and the commentators for the huge hype before the match which leads predicably to a massive disappointment when realism hits home and Spain wins the Euro Football final. ‘It’ wasn’t coming home after all.

I thought I had this afternoon primed for a sit on the patio in summer sunshine but no sooner had I settled  myself than the rain started. Now I’m inside and looking out at passing brollies.
