Feeding frenzy

I do like it when the smaller birds get first dibs at the fatball feeder. As soon as I put the ball out this morning, the sparrows flew the short distance from the hedge where they live, and pecked furiously at the food. They probably know, just as well as I do, that as soon as the starlings or magpies spot it, it will be gone in a flash.
