Tidying up the garden
We have not had a dry weekend to visit Maidstone for so long, that the lawn was a flower meadow and the block paving drive did not give a good first impression to the prospective buyers.
So, I started to tackle the drive yesterday until I disturbed an ants nest and, wearing shorts, I got ants in my pants! Wore cycling shorts for protection and completed the drive today. Even if I say so myself it has made a huge difference.
Then even though it was a bug paradise with numerous hawkweed, I decided to mow the back lawn and weed the path. A big improvement! The grass hoppers and bees were not best impressed but the neighbours and prospective buyers will hopefully appreciate it. The back garden border still needs weeding, but that is for another day.
Our return to Essex took ages, with an hour hold-up at the Dartford Tunnel due to volume of traffic as the M25 was closed clockwise, so all the vehicles had to use it. Frustrating, as we missed the England match.
