A walk to Alp Novai
We planned to get the gondola up the mountain today and walk down, but when we woke up there was a low cloud and you could not even see the mountain tops, so with the visibility not being great we changed our plans. We walked in to the village to get a cappuccino and bumped into a friend - we met nearly 20 years ago at the village swimming pool when I was there with my three boys and she was also there with her three boys who happen to be very similar ages to our sons, and the boys have been friends ever since. Then off to try the new cafe in the village, we did feel disloyal not going to our usual one but we glad we did try it as the coffee was excellent.
We then got the bus up the Monbiel valley and then walked further up to Alp Novai, and then back to the apartment on a different path. It was a long walk and we did about 17000 steps. The low cloud was lifting and it was warm but thankfully not as hot as yesterday.
We had lunch at the apartment - fresh melon and an excellent Italian parma ham which we ate outside on the terrace in the sunshine.
We could not play golf this afternoon as Gavin has meetings so I have just relaxed and caught up with my editing of photos, as I take so many when I am here. Xena is worn out after her long walk today.
It is the fifth year of the annual music festival held here, I had already bought tickets to two shows but today I bought tickets to another concert when Adam is here as I know he will enjoy it, the guest musician being the British horn player Ben Goldscheider.
