I was out on my deck for the first shot of the day before 6. There's that hazy pink glow reminding me of the presence of forest fire smoke drifting our way. It's not affecting air quality greatly at this point. 

I was out the door and on my way to Vantage Point by the airport. I took the long way on the road below my house, turned left by the airport and right to the park. There were several vehicles parked by the float plane dock so I didn't feel I wanted to wander around there. 

The float plane dock was the scene of a near tragedy last week. Two international students thought they should go into the river by the dock but quickly got into trouble. The river is deep, dirty and fast-flowing right now. They did not understand the hazard. A man dove in to rescue them and nearly lost his own life in the process. We are warned to take great care around our rivers. 

Air Canada's first flight out was warming up on the runway as I left for the grocery store. 

I collected my groceries and some breakfast, then headed for home.

I'm looking forward to a guest for tea this afternoon. We have a mutual interest in the family tree so we'll share our information over something cool.
