Boat How and Burnmoor Tarn
Saturday Backblip, life is getting in the way and tbh the weather is not doing anything for my enthusiasm.
We stayed in Eskdale at the Boot Inn friday night (excellent) after Eskfest so made the most of a fried breakfast and then off for a walk. The plan was to summit Boat How*, down to Burnmoor Tarn and circle back via Eel Tarn and the splendidly named Little Pie. Paths were sometimes indistinct but we completed without too much scrambling through bracken or bog.
Blip is a shot of Burnmoor Lodge , a 19th century hunting lodge, its about a 3mile walk to the lodge, there are no roads.
Extra is a collage to give a flavour of the day.
* "How" means hill in old Norse. Boat is a boat as far as I can work out so why you would call something boat hill is beyond me..
