Busy Bee

Apart from the roses, the rest of the garden isn’t looking at its best at the moment. The ox-eye daisies have gone over and the lavender and buddleias are fading, but at least the salvias and erigerons are still looking pretty good. The caryopteris is in flower and I’m glad to see the agapanthus blooms have just started to come out too.

I saw one white butterfly earlier today, but I haven’t seen any others since, and sadly I haven’t seen a single butterfly anywhere near either of my two buddleia bushes all season. So I thought I’d make a garden collage today and include a couple of bees to give the impression that they are more numerous than they are, although these two are probably actually the same bee!
