Jolly old Hollyhocks

They are loving the rain.. unlike some of us and have become so tall that they are flopping.. still these are looking lovely in the glimpse of afternoon sunshine we have been allowed.
The service engineer for the range had to return today as it hasn't heated up since being serviced last week. Hopefully it will now run better and reach its normal heat. 
Finally a relaxed morning.. the first in ages it seems and some more bed laundry washing done although it went out and had to come in again after about half an hour as the rain started again. Maybe tomorrow will get it all dry. 
It is time to remove all the oxeye daisies now.. they have gone over mostly and it will make room for the other bits and pieces I have yet to plant out for the autumn showing. I bought a sage plant today since I was unable to buy sage from the supermarket for a recipe I want to do.. do hope it takes and grows happily.
