The Bay
After taking granddaughter Amelia to school, we drove to Castle Coch, Tongwynlais, nr Cardiff (South Wales, UK) to cycle to Penarth, over Cardiff Bay Barrage, through Cardiff City Centre, and back along the Taff trail to the start.
We stopped at my dad's for ninety minutes in Penarth for a coffee and chat before cycling across the barrage. Whilst cycling past The Welsh Assembly Buildings (see photo') there was a large media presence. It was only on the way home that we found out that First Minister Vaughan Gething who leads the dominant Welsh Labour party had just resigned weeks after being elected. He was forced by five of his cabinet colleagues resigning earlier in the day - much to do with a 'dodgy' campaign donation and deleting WhatsApp messages to do with the COVID enquiry.
Labour have been in power in Wales for nearly twenty five years. I'm not a fan and the demise of the country I love forced me over the border to England. Let's hope they elect someone who has integrity and will put Wales and its people first.
My photo' with the dark cloud over the Welsh Assembly is rather ironic in the circumstances!
