Len and Basil at the bottom of Beacon Hill

It rained very hard overnight. Two flood warnings are out for the Lower River Soar and Loughborough. The weather began to clear during the morning although remaining dull. We decided to go to the bottom of Beacon hill for Basil to have a run and we could have a coffee.

I tried my little scooter on the path by the café which was fine until it finally joined a gravel path at right angles. The scooter does not like gravel, but it got me as far as a stone enclosure with a solid floor and an assemblage of flowers including cranesbill and musk mallow. It was from here that I snapped Len and Basil crossing what was the buttercup field in May.
