Not what I expected

I'm spending all day every day, this week and next, on an extensive shortlisting exercise discussing the candidates' applications with two other panel members on video link. After our second session this afternoon, I popped into Horsell to call in at Bailey's, the jewellers, to get a new battery for my watch. Bailey's had been there for as long as I can remember, but no more. The shop has been transformed into a Turkish Barber. It opens on Thursday and I could get a free haircut as part of its opening promotion, but I think I'll give it a miss whilst I try to think of where else I can get a new battery. Horsell isn't short of hairdressers, including a barber, so I'm not sure the new enterprise adds a great deal to the shopping "offer" in Horsell High Street.
