Castle Howard
After a Morning of rehab on the knee and a few more jobs on the to do list it was time for a break.
We made the short journey to Castle Howard where a festival was being set up in the grounds. Although the car park seemed busy there were few people wandering around, it was warm so I left my fleece in the car. We enjoyed a walk through the gardens to the cafe. I then had another circuit whilst Richard made his way back to the car.
I was contacted by a second cousin through Ancestry. He has the same Great Grandfather and had managed to trace my father’s family back to the 1500’s. Interestingly he live near to Hasty Bank in Bilsdale. Very close to where I live and have orienteered near there too. A small world.
