Beauty and the Beast

.. is what gardening is all about!  I think I need more thrushes .. will work on that idea and see what comes of it. 
Living in the Cotswolds mean that all the dry stone walls are the perfect living quarters for snails.. and well, slugs probably love the clay too. Hey ho! For years and years I had no problem with this hosta and it remained whole most of the season.. sadly in the past 5 or so there is now more missing than present. 
thrilled with the little rose buds on my rose cutting. I thought I had killed it over the winter but it has produced a few flowers already and this is its second flush. 
The sun is shining.. hurrah ! 
We were woken at 7.20 by the oil delivery .. shame we hadn't left the gate unlocked as it meant one of us had to hurriedly get dressed in no time and dash down to let them in! 
Range working at full speed again.. good!
