Talk
With A away in Lewis, and no chance of daughter L walking Django, that it fell to me was no chore on such a lovely morning. It was an ideal opportunity to take the most remote Penicuik Turf zones - the furthest of which is at the Ramsay Obelisk. The main field we had to cross has been left fallow this year, so it was rather thick with "what grows naturally", and then we had to go round the over-spilling field of ripening rapeseed. From there I thought of walking straight back into Penicuik after dropping down from the usual viewpoint (see extra), but it was too nice a day. So, I turned left rather than right, and continued through the rest of the Estate, before dropping back into the town.
At home I put together slides for the talk that I'll give on Tuesday of next week. It's a bit embarrassing that I've not done enough work to speak to the title and abstract that I submitted in February, but I've got some other related material to insert. Ultimately, it's being at the conference and talking to people that matters more.
