We went back to the Crown and Sceptre, our local pub, to have a community meal of tofu and noodles, in my case, and chicken and noodles for Helena. Unfortunately it wasn't a very good meal. I learnt to love tofu when spending nearly a year in south-east Asia in the early 1980s, so much so that it is one of my favourite foods. But it has to be prepared with love when it is cooked. 

I'll have to go to Gloucester and buy some fresh tofu for ourselves and then cook one of my own recipes, which I'm pleased to say Helena loves too.
