Buttertubs
We drove up to Wensleydale today, stopping at Aysgarth falls, Semerwater and Hawes. We drove through the Buttertubs pass, it's a fantastic area. This is an attempt to take a photo into one of the shafts which gives the area it's name. Cracks were formed by acidic water, they then widened into shafts. Apparently the farmers used to keep the butter down them to keep it cool. Here are my pictures of the day.
