The river Wye

We are taking one of our monthly 'couple of days away'.  Last month we went east, this time we have gone west and are staying in a beautiful, old pub on the river Wye, just about 16 miles from the Welsh border.   More importantly we are very close to Hereford, a city we went to many years ago and have always wanted to return to.  From London it is about 3.5 hours but we dawdled through the sun drenched countryside stopping off along the way at Ross on Wye and then had a walk along the river Wye to stretch our legs and get the joints moving again.
The river Wye has been in the press quite a bit recently as the  waterboard responsible for the river has been letting a lot of untreated effluent into the water, hopefully the new government will shake up all the waterboards.
