A little ray of sunshine - Day 4
Jude wore her sunshine dress today, quite appropriately as it has been sunny and hot all day.
No nursery today so after Eda left for school we let Jude get up at her leisure. Just about to set out for the day we got a message from Grace to say Eda was having an end of year party and could we drop in done gf biscuits for her. We called at school, lots of cars but no response from the intercom, they were all at a leavers service at the church across the road.
No matter we were off to Dyrham Park just a few miles away. We’d call in our way back.
The blip is from Dyrham Park where we have visited lots of times over the years. The play park is fairly new and we’ve taken Jude before, she loves the tractors. We had a coffee and unbelievably today Jude wanted a hot chocolate!
The walks across the fields have great views over towards Bristol and the Severn Estuary. You can see the bridge.
I asked Jude to stand in front of the tall flowers but she chose her own pose! Extra. Chris took the two of us in the formal garden in front of the house to Whats app to the parents.
In the courtyard cafe before returning up the hill for a cup of tea and a piece of shortbread, she decided to have an ice cream.
We’ve got our moneys. Worth out of NT properties thus last two weeks!
We got the bus back up the hill (old folks) and went to the school again to deliver the biscuits. They did respond this time but they couldn’t open the gate as there’d been a power cut!
Lunch and a quick turn around to pick Eda up at three. There was an event on across the road to say farewell the head teacher. Sad as he has just got the school outstanding in their recent OFSTED.
It’s a very small hamlet and a single track road so we had to park right at the end of the lane and walk. ( The lane Eda cycles to school). We’d had another message to take Eda’s swim clothes as they were having a slip and slide.
We had music, toasts and presentations and all the kids got fruit ice pops. We were about to leave when the lid came off the jacuzzi pool and they set up the enormous plastic sheet and sprayed it with water and detergent. The kids had a whale of a time. Jude wasn’t sure but was very happy on the swing.
As you can see the place has a fantastic setting and view.
A great end to quite a day!
Just one more day to go!
