Raising of a Burned Luxury Yacht at Roche Harbor

Today we watched a huge crane, barge and tug arrive in the harbor and wind it's way past the guest docks toward the main walkway out to the fulltime docks. It was huge. But it had some serious work to do today...it was here to raise a once beautiful luxury yacht made by Ocean Alexander which burned to the water line on Wednesday. It started someplace at the bow, and the firemen were unable to extinguish it. Nothing could be done, except to let it burn out, and watch it sink to the bottom of the beautiful Roche Harbor Marina.

So today it was raised with the help of divers, some slings, and lots of environmental cleanup crews and those who know how to do these things...it was fascinating to watch. As I post, they are still working on the project, although the boat hull is now floating on its own, the fuel has been removed, and things are getting cleaned up quickly.
