goodness gracious - great balls of .... wool

I'm not sure if the photo does it justice - but this ball of wool is about the size of a football (or perhaps rugby ball as it's not quite spherical).  

It was given to Anniemay by a friend who bought it to make a scarf. She gave up on the scarf, presumably intimidated by the task she'd set herself.

This giant ball holds no such fears for Anniemay.  She's making leg warmers for Varnika, who is struggling to cope with the bitterly cold British Summer.  She's likely to end up with enough leg warmers to see her through the next Ice Age.
