Fun in a Bottle

Today our friend with the trash talking parrot returned from his trip to the lower 48, and came over to retrieve the bird. He brought us a bottle of mezcal, which is made in Oaxaca, the state of Mexico where we spent last winter. This drink is similar to tequila, but for our taste SO much better! It has a wonderful smokey aroma and flavor that is captured during the underground cooking of the agave plant.

But this blip is about the bottle of this particular brand, which is called Delirio de Oaxaca. The bottle was made in a crystalline manner so that the light broke up when looking through it, forming patterns of whatever was in the background. This was my tablecloth.

And I kind of miss that bird.
