Friday

Florence, Hetty and I went out walking very early. We hoped to miss the heat but it was still warm enough for Hetty to paddle.

The rest of today has been quite lazy. We have been in and out of the garden.

Florence is expecting a visit from a friend tomorrow so I've prepped lunch. 

Inspired by a meal we had in Portsmouth recently, I've cubed, sautéd and marinated a watermelon. It tastes delicious already. Roll on tomorrow lunchtime.

Clive is going out this evening. Florence and I are undecided. We may wander up to the Black Horse later.
