Another day, another tin mine....

... although, because the bad weather came in, this is the only one we visited today. It's Botallack Mine. A tough workplace at the best of times, this was made even harder in the section which collected and condensed arsenic. Life expectancy would usually be less than five years. Thankfully, the mine finished in the early 1900's, and today we were able to sit in a very pleasant cafe, enjoying saffron buns and bakewell tart with our coffees. Times sometimes change for the better.
2nd extra: A six-spot burnet moth. I'd never even heard of them before today, but apparently they're reasonably common.
