Tour De Fleece

Another few skeins finished. The two blue skeins are the product of the Falkland / Mawata caps (2 July). The larger skein was plyed from 2 singles, one of each fibre; the smaller one was just the remains of the Falkland plyed together. While spinning the silk I remembered why I don't often use this type of silk! My fingers are quite sore once I'd finished. Perhaps it was something to do with the fact that both fibres were dyed about 18 years ago! This was my first foray into dyeing, done under the tutelage of Janet.
That said, the finished yarn is lovely and soft, in the flesh the colours are lovely, even after all this time.
The two white skeins are both Polwarth tops; this fibre was amazing to spin - it almost spun itself! The finished yarn is so soft and unbelievably white. I'm hopefully going to be the lucky recipient of some Polwarth fleece and baby lamb Polwarth fleece to try. ..... can't wait!
