Love those dog days of summer

After a failed attempt to secure a few spots on this afternoon's Free Friday Ferry Farewell aboard The Coot, a vintage 26 foot sailing sloop, Rich and I enjoyed the warm morning sun and a walk along the water's edge while watching a sailing class get underway at the boating center.

A few blocks up the street a very relaxed pooch had himself comfortably established in the shade of a tree just outside the charming Harris Avenue Café, where we enjoyed some poached eggs, pancakes, and coffee. When we left, there he was, hind legs outstretched, completely relaxed, still enjoying the attention of passersby on this busy morning.
