Contre-jour

I always love this contre-jour lighting in the evening.  However, it is not easy for the camera to cope with the contrasts.  This is an HDR image, excluding the sun itself as that created dreadful flare. A friend standing  next to me took the same photograph on his iPhone - including the sun - and it appeared to be a perfect result with no flare, and shadows and highlight detail retained. 

It his high time the intelligence built into phones was included in "proper" cameras.
